Payanam will release tomorrow after landing in trouble
Payanam landed itself in legal trouble after one Mahendra Kumar Jain filed a petition against Prakash Raj demanding the producer to pay back the sum he had borrowed. Prakash has been accused of a sum of 80 lakhs from Mr.Jain a financier based in Chennai who had funded the project. Mr.Jain felt cheated again this time as Prakash has again avoided repaying the amount to the financier and gone ahead with the selling the distribution rights to N.Lingusamy’s Thirupathi Brothers. It is also known that Prakash still had some pending dues to be cleared with Mahendra Kumar Jainfor his earlier project Abhiyum Naanum.
Fans were concerned whether the movie will release tomorrow i.e. February 11th, 2011 after the Madras High Court who heard Jain’s story had asked Prakash to settle the issue soon by paying back the said amount.
One of our close sources who inquired about the release got a satisfactory reply from Prakash as he was quoted,“Financier Jain’s case is a clear case of forgery. I have filed a case with security. The release for tomorrow is confirmed.”
