Comedian Mayilsamy appeals to the public to vote for ‘Amma

Comedian Mayilsamy appeals to the public to vote for ‘Amma

Kollywood has clearly taken sides during this election. With Vijay urging his fans to support the AIADMK combine, more and more actors are coming out in the open to support either of the major political alliances in the State in the elections due in a couple of weeks’ time from now.

Comedian Mayilsamy campaigned in support of the AIADMK combine in and around Tenkasi. He was speaking in support of the local candidate, actor Sarathkumar, and said that the public should vote en masse for the opposition alliance and send the ruling party on a ‘five-year’ rest period to sit in the opposition in the new Assembly.
“Kalaignar’s family has intervened in the smooth functioning of almost all the fields, thereby making it impossible for other lesser mortals to survive in those fields,” Mayilsamy observed and urged the people to vote for ‘Amma’ this time.
“Corruption has taken roots in all spheres of life. In order to transform the State from its present backward status, we hould opt for a change of guard and there is no better alternative than ‘Amma’, who would bring the law and order under control in the State besides doing everything possible to uplift the lifestyle of the common man,”thundered Mayilsamy.

Bhanu forced by dad for 25 lakhs
Thamirabharani’ fame Bhanu is braving hard times both in movies and in her family life. She doesn’t have any plum projects in her kitty as of late and has only one person to blame for all the mess. Surprisingly it’s her father who according to the actress let go off the opportunities that came her way. He was a major hindrance when she wished to sign up any new project. The actress disclosed that the greedy man went on demanding a minimum remuneration of 25 lakhs whenever an offer came her way.
Most of the offers were also mainly for glamor roles which dint go well with the actress as she has made up her mind now. She wants to enter the big league of heroines citingJyothika and Sneha as her real inspiration. However it has not been easy to say yes to a role whole heartedly with the situation back home lending to a disoriented state of affairs.Bhanu was recently seen in Sattapadi Kutram and hopes to do give a good performance with the upcoming mega flick Ponnar Shankar.
Hope Bhanu bounces back in the Kollywood ring soon

Anushka game for all kinds of roles

Anushka game for all kinds of roles

Anushka Shetty
Actress Anushka has opined that films like ‘Arundhati’ are made only rarely. “Films like ‘Arundhati’, which had a powerful character for the heroine in a woman-centric film, are not made quite often in any language,” says Anushka.
The lanky Anushka debuted opposite Madhavan in a dud titled ‘Rendu’ more than six years back. The film, directed by Sundar C, didn’t fare as well as expected and this made Anushka switch to Tollywood and try her luck in Telugu films. She did many films in Telugu but it was the blockbuster ‘Arundhati’, which released in 2008, proved to be the turning point in her career.
‘Arundhati’ was dubbed in many languages and did a rousing business. This paved the way for Anushka’s re-entry in Tamil films with Vijay’s ‘Vettaikkaran’, which did average business. ‘Singam’, which paired her opposite Suriya, did very well last year. She now expectes ‘Vaanam’ which pits her opposite Simbu, to further boost her career prospects in Kollywood.
“My height is definitely not a factor which prevents me in taking up movie offers. I’m not a girl of abnormal height; may be, I’m slightly above-average when it comes to height. I hadn’t faced any problems during the shooting of any of my movies due to the ‘height’ factor; it’s the media which hypes it.
“I have been brushing up my Tamil dialogue delivery. This year, I hope to make a big impact in Tamil films,” concludes Anushka.

Rajini to star alongside 7 heroines in Rana

Rajini to star alongside 7 heroines in Rana

Rajinikanth
Superstar Rajinikanth would have as many as 7 heroines, three of them opposite him, in his upcoming film ‘Rana’, it was revealed. Director K.S. Ravikumar, who last directed Rajini in the 1999 superhit film ‘Padaiyappa’, would be directing the superstar for the third time in ‘Rana’. ‘Muthu’, which released in the mid-nineties, is the first film that brought the two together.
During an informal chat with journalists, Ravikumar said that there have been quite a lot of stuff written in the press about the film though most of them were far from the truth.“Some vested interests have been spreading rumours that the animation film Sultan: The Warrior is being transformed to ‘Rana’. This is not true at all.
“Some time back, Rajini Sir narrated a script to me which was very compelling. I developed on it and the theme of ‘Rana’ was borne. ‘Sultan’ is directed by Soundarya and she is also providing the technical inputs for the graphic sequences in ‘Raana’. We neither spoke to Bollywood’s Rekha nor did she refuse to be part of the film.
“We didn’t talk to Asin either. We have been talking to many other heroines to star in this period-type film and would zero in on 7 heroines finally. Except Deepika Padukone, none of the other heroines is finalized as yet. I spoke to Vidya Balan but haven’t yet decided about casting her in the film.
“This is my third film with Rajini sir and the budget of the film is expected to cross Rs.100 crores. The shooting is likely to start either from mid-April or early May in London,” concludes Ravikumar.

Vadivelu blasts Vijayakanth video

vadivelu thiruvarur speech
Comedians are usually the perfect foil to the action star’s brusque, macho act — either as sidekick or fallguy. But the ace comedian Vadivelu blasted the actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth in the public DMK compaign meeting held at Thiruvarur. He criticized Vijayakanth as drunkard, mentally disabled and was in full swing to slam Vijayakanth by uttering harsh comments on him.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Wednesday launched the first election campaign at his birth place Thiruvarur in Tamil Nadu. As it was announced that Vadivelu will speak at the Thirivarur meeting, it was anticipated that Vadivelu would target Vijayakanth this time more so because of his tiff with the DMDK’s founder Vijayakanth since 2009.
When Vadivelu was called to address the public meeting, the entire audience burst into applause. However, the same applause was missing, when Karunanidhi delivered his speech.
As expected, Vadivelu wasted no time in attacking Vijayakanth’s attitude of becoming Tamil Nadu CM. During the entire speech he used abusive words against Vijayakanth, but he never uttered any single word against Jayalalitha.
