Rajinikanth who will turn 61 this December 12,2010 celebrated the Sashtiapthapoorthi ceremony with wife Latha which was witnessed by close friends and relatives. The venue for this auspicious event was Rajini’s very own Poes Garden inChennai. The event took place at December 10, 2010 in the morning lasting for 2 hours from 7:30 am to 9:00 am.

The function also saw Kamal Hassan congratulating the couple on this special day extending his warm regards. Rajinialso received phone calls from CM M Karunanidhi and CM MK Stalin who expressed their best wishes, while other relatives and well wishers showered the couple with their blessings.

Latha Rajinikanth’s sister, brother-in-law YG Mahendran and Rajini’s elder brother were some of the notable guests.

Super Star Rajinikanth married Latha on 26.02.1981. The soft-spoken Latha, who had met him to interview him for her college magazine, was a calming influence.
