Superstar Rajinikanth is celebrating his 61st Birthday today, December 12
Rajini – The Real Boss steps into his 61st year today. And still remains the true Superstar of Tamil cinema.
Many would remember the scene inEnthiran where Rajini pulls out the rifles from the cops and in his numero uno style wishes “Happy Diwali Folks” before wiping out the helpless policemen. Well the date12th December is also a “Happy” one for all tamil cinema fans worldwide as it marks the 61st Birthday of a phenomenon called Rajinikanth.
With the words Kadhal Anukal udambil etthanai?neutron electron – un neelakannil mottham etthanai?” still ringing clear in our heads the Enthiran cyclone that was unleashed by the superstar is strongly romping in fans globally with a zipping force.
Ishtyle all the way!
Minutes after a young man named Shivaji Rao Gaekwad walked out of his office, legendary director K Balachanderreportedly told an associate, “There is fire in this young man’s eyes. One day, he will take Tamil cinema by storm.”
The filmmaker’s words were bang on target. Today, more than three decades later, Rajinikanth is truly a phenomenon. Charting a new path for himself post the MGR-Sivaji Ganesan era, Rajinikanth shook the traditional and docile Tamil film industry with his charismatic new style. Or ishtlye, should we say!
His ever swelling fan base has now crossed an astonishing figure of 2 crores. Well not a real surprise for those Rajinifans who share their pride with the star. Just with the ease he would blow out his birthday candles on his 61st BirthdayRajini broke all records with a vigor seen never before and took Tamil cinema to an all new level on a global stage almost single handedly.
While the older generation holds a special place for a Rajinikanth with his bell bottoms the Generaton X is equally mesmerized with the Rajini of the post nineties.

But all this fame and money simply contradicts the real Rajini who has always lead a humble and simple life keeping away from lavish celebrations. A true leader in all sense, well we don’t need to highlight the huge sums he donated for the reconstruction of temples, his noble efforts to uplift the poor and the downtrodden and innumerable other acts setting an example for his legion of fans. His followers are delighted as Rajini will be celebrating his Birthday this time with his very own Chennai Makkal.
Fans are anxiously waiting for the release of his upcoming 3-D animation offering ‘Hara’ and definitely expecting to be enthralled with his antics in the film.
Well Rajini has always kept his message real simple ‘expect the unexpected’ and surely it’s going to be another unforgettable experience.
