Captains Virudhagiri Sets theatre on fire

Actor-turned-politician  Captain Vijayakanth’s first directorial venture  ‘Virudhagiri’  hit the screens all over the State recently making a festival season for all DMDK followers. The film, which opened to mixed response is running successful in most of the theatre has now set a theatre on fire too. Not to be confused with the collections the film made.  It was actual fire that broke out in a cinema hall screening the Movie.
The cinema hall situated at Railway Station Road in Tiruchy was screening ‘Virudhagiri’, the morning show, when fire broke out within ten minutes of the start. Movie goers who spotted the fire spreading along a side rushed towards the exit.  The theater team was fast to react and helped the people evacuate safely and for later for Fire personals who rushed to the spot it  took nearly 30 minutes for them to bring the fire under control.
While it was gossiped among people it was the underground work of the ruling party, the  theatre management  in the evening announced electrical  ‘short circuit’ was the cause of the fire. And the subsequent shows of the movie were cancelled.
But on complaint of the DMDK council member local police have registered a case and are investigating.
