Hot news is that Anushka Shetty is all set to play the leading lady in the multi starrer flick Ponniyin Selvan. A source close to Anushka confirmed, “Yes Anushka has signed up for Mani sir’s epic Ponniyin Selvan and she is thrilled to take up this project.”

Anushka has already made adjustments in her calendar to take make the best use of this golden opportunity. The lady is waiting for her Vaanam release playing lead oppositeSimbu and buzz is that she will don the lead for Ajith’s Billa 2.Currently Anushka has some Telugu projects to attend to, expected to be wrapped up in 4-5 months after which she packs her bags heading straight to the Ponniyin Selvan sets with others including ‘Ilayathalapathy’ Vijay,Surya,Arya,Vishal and Mahesh Babu. Anushka was in news for dropping the Singam Hindi remake as she was not paid her demand of 1.5 crores. Now when Sun Pictures is pumping in 200 crores for this project it won’t be a real issue.
