About 11/2 years after the alleged sex scandal involving her with self-styled godman Swami Nithyananda broke out, actress Ranjitha filed a police complaint at Chennai City Police Commissioner’s Office accusing Sun Network owner Kalanidhi Maran of morphing and telecasting visuals showing her in a compromising position with controversial spiritual guru Nithyananda.
Talking to reporters, Ranjitha said, “On March 3, 2010, Sun TV aired footage that caused defamation to my personal life. So I have filed a case against Kalanidhi Maran”.
The actress was last seen in Maniratnam’s Raavanan movie in a small role.
It may be worth mentioning here on July 7, Nithyananda ashram had already filed a complaint against Maran and Sun TV’s COO Hansraj Saxena holding them responsible for the telecasting of the purported video footage and for the network staff’s ‘trespass’ into their ashrams at various places and alleged assault of inmates.
