Trisha in remake spree

Actress Trisha never flinches in starring in Tamil remakes of successful films from other languages viz., Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. At present, she has a solitary film in Tamil opposite Ajith in ‘Mankatha’, which is being directed by Venkatprabhu.

She is now all set to star in the lead role in the Tamil remake of the Bollywood hit film ‘Band Baje Baarat’, which would be produced by UVT Motion Pictures. Trisha would be essaying the role played by the sizzling Anushka Sharma in the original version.

Trisha is also said to be in talks to play the lead role in the Tamil remake of the national award-winning Bollywood film ‘Fashion’ which starred Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Mudgha Godse in lead roles. If the talks succeed, Trisha might end up playing the role played by Priyanka in the original version.

Incidentally, her latest Telugu movie ‘Teen Maar’ also happens to be the remake of the Bollywood superhit film ‘Love Aaj Kal’ which starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. For ‘Teen Maar’, Trisha pairs up opposite Pavan Kalyan. She has also signed up to play the lead in ‘Bodyguard’ opposite Venkatesh, which is the remake of the Tamil hit film ‘Kaavalan’!
