Super Star appreciates ‘Nagavalli’ the sequel to Chandramukhi
Superstar Rajnikanth, who recently watched the premire show of Telugu film ‘Nagavalli’ , the sequel to his block-buster hit ‘Chandramukhi’, was in awe of the director’s (P. Vasu) work and appreciated the film for its grandeur. And commented he liked the screenplay and the film was interesting to watch.
Rajini’s ‘Chandramukhi’, broke many box office records and ran for more than 800 days. Later the sequel to chandramuki was decided to be made and it was first remade in Kannada as ‘Aaptarakshaka’ , and Ironically, ‘Aaptarakshaka’, which became a super duper hit also turned out to be Kannada superstar Vishnuvardhan’s last film prior to his demise. The next on line was ‘Nagavalli’ the Telugu version of the film featuring Victory Venkatesh and Anushkha in the lead roles.
Vasu who started his sequel groundworks had, Rajinikanth as his first choice but Rajini was unable to commit himself had advised Vasu to cast it in Telugu with Venkatesh and Vishnuvardan in Kannada in the lead. And interestingly in the telugu version Nagavalli Venkatesh plays a Rajini fan and in one sequence, Super Star also appears in the film as the star Rajini himself. This sequence is said to have come in for lot of praise from the Telugu audience, who recently made Rajni’s ‘The Robot’ a superhit affair.
The Tamil version of the sequel is still in Vasu’s mind and it’s said that the film might star Ajith in the lead next year and could be titled ‘Vettaiyan’.
