Siruthai crew apologizes
Reacting to agitation staged by a Rocket Raja and group protesting the name of one of pick pocket character played byKarthi in Siruthai, producer of the film Gnanavelraja has said the film was made with the sole intention to entertain everyone and not to hurt anyone.
We recently updated you on the protests made infront of Karthi’s house. For the facts Rocket J Raja, a popular leader of the Nadar Makkal Shakti Party who has been involved in social service and in the work of uplifting his community people.
Stephen, Chennai District Secretary of the Makkal Sakthi Party, filed a case with the City Civil Court in Chennai accusing the film might even crate law and order problems in the Southern Districts, and has asked in it to ban the release of the film at a time when his party’s leader has decided to contest the ensuing State Assembly elections. Mr. Justice Arunachalam, who took up the case, asked the director Siva and producer to explain their stance and issued a show-cause notice to them.
Following which
Gnanavelraja, who runs Sudio Green,has come forward in apology and said,
“The film is an adopted version of movies which are already huge hits in Telugu and Kannada. All the characters in it are purely fictional. All that we wanted is to make a quality entertainer which would be enjoyed by everyone this Pongal season. And director Siva has lived up to our expectations by making the movie a full-length entertainer. At this juncture, we came to know that members of Nadar Makkal Shakti Party owing allegiance ,attempted to stage a protest in front of Karthi’s house. We would wish to clarify that our film was not made to hurt the sentiments of anyone.”
