Rajini's explanation to CM...

Rajini's explanation to CM...

Superstar Rajinikanth has reportedly given an explanation to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi on some television channels showing him voting for the AIADMK during the polling for Assembly elections on Wednesday.
When the top actor came to the Stella Maris College polling booth, lensmen literally chased him and even captured the visuals of Rajini doing his democratic duty. And some television channels aired the footage too, saying he voted for the ‘two leaves’, the symbol of the AIADMK.
This resulted in the Election Commission issuing a stern warning to the channels, saying “it is a poll violation and telecasting such a visual is a crime. Both the videographer and broadcaster will be punished”. Following this, the visuals were taken off from the air.
Meanwhile, Rajini, who met Karunanidhi during a special show of ‘Ponnar Sankar’, told the Chief Minister that the cameramen had insisted him to go for a ‘retake’ while pressing the EVM button and accidentally his hands pressed the two leaves symbol.
The DMK leadership seems to have accepted the explanation, with Karunanidhi exchanging pleasantries with the Superstar during the ‘Ponnar Sankar’ show.

Katrina Kaif to star opposite Vikram in Karikalan

Katrina Kaif to star opposite Vikram in Karikalan

Even as actor Vikram has been getting appreciation and accolades (thanks to the trailer) for his awesome performance in his upcoming film ‘Deiva Thirumagan’ directed by Vijay, the actor-par-excelence has already moved on to the planning stages to prepare himself for his next film, it is said. ‘Deiva Thirumagan’ has Anushka and Amala Paul as Vikram’s co-stars.
Vikram’s next flick is likely to be directed by Suseenthiran, who has had successive hits in ‘Vennila Kabadikuzhu’ and ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’. Meanwhile, Vikram has decided to first star in debutant director Kannan’s film which might see him pairing opposite Katrina Kaif, the stunning-looking ‘No.1’ actress in Bollywood. The film is likely to be produced by Silverline Film Factory, which earlier produced Jiiva’s ‘Singam Puli’.
Vikram is likely to ‘relax’ his policy of not starring in debutant directors’ films after he felt impressed by Kannan’s script. Kannan has reportedly met Katrina and has taken her consent prior to his meeting with Vikram to narrate the script.
Though Vikram hasn’t signed along dotted lines, it is said that he would first finish Kannan’s film before commencing work on Suseendhiran’s film. The film, which was titled ‘Tirumavalavan’ (?!), was later changed to ‘Karikalan’ after Vikram objected to the ‘controversial’ title.

Maddy-Trisha in Tamil remake of Tanu Weds Manu

Actor Madhavan’s latest Hindi film ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ oppositeKangna Ranaut (remember her in ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi?) has been declared a super-hit film by the Trade circles. The film, a romantic comedy, had belied the predictions of many who had warned that the first-time pairing of Maddy and Kangna might not work out at all.

Produced at an expense of Rs.17.5 crores, the film has so far netted a profit of Rs.38.50 crores worldwide. Sources say that efforts are being made by ‘certain’ quartes to remake the film in Tamil.
While Maddy automatically gets selected for the role he played in Hindi, it is said thatTrisha might be roped into play the role essayed by Kangna in the original version,
Trisha, who debuted almost a decade back in Tamil films with ‘Lesa Lesa’ opposite Madhavan, had to wait for 9 long years before acting along side him in last year’s ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. If everything goes well, we might see her pairing up with her first hero again!
